"Navigating the College Admissions Process" - The Cornell Club NY

This March, it was my pleasure to produce a presentation for The Cornell University Club in New York on college admissions, a panel of experts from
all facets of the process for a 2-part program, a panel discussion followed by two interactive workshops: "Tips and Pitfalls in the Common Application" from college admissions
expert Andrea van Niekerk of College Goals and "Getting a Handle on SAT and ACT Prep," my popular presentation for SAT
and ACT success.
Rounding out our panel were Laura Clark, long time director of college counseling at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School,
and Benjamin Bingman-Tennant, National Director of Programs for A Better Chance, a national organization dedicated to
creating educational opportunities for young people of color.

Remote tutoring by phone or Skype
|
|
Q: What do some smart students in Paris, Geneva, London, Kampala, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Albany and Miami have in common?
A: They all do their test prep with Karen online via Skype!
Tutoring by telephone or Skype (Internet video chat) is a great option for busy students - and those who don't live in NYC - to take my lessons. Tutoring can be done entirely
remotely or by the usual one-to-one in-person lessons supplemented by remote lessons.
Save time by taking lessons at your computer and get more bang for study buck with no minimum lesson requirement.

Study with a Friend
|
I offer students the option to study in semi-private lessons of 1-3 students at reduced tuition.
|
|
If you have a friend with whom you think you would study well, I would be happy to set up a trial lesson for you both
at a substantial discount on the cost of individual private lessons.
I will make sure that your learning styles and study priorities
are a good match for a joint course of study and will work with both of you to enable you to get the most out of your study with me.
|
For more information about semi-private tutoring,
find my contact information here and drop me a line.
